Inspire a hunger for change

Fasting has a long history in our faith, as a way of strengthening our spiritual life. CRS FoodFast connects the tradition of Catholic fasting with global hunger, yet it’s so much more than skipping a few meals. It’s a life-changing experience packed with fun and engaging resources, activities and more. With three thought-provoking themes, FoodFast helps youth explore their faith and make a difference in the world.

Looking for a 3-hour family fast or a 24-hour power fast? There’s a FoodFast that’s right for your group. You can mix and match the classroom- and retreat-ready materials to find the message that’s right for your group.

Fasting – It’s Different for Everyone

CRS FoodFast invites communities to determine what it means to fast and “go hungry.” Some will define fasting as abstaining from everything but water or juice. Others will fast by providing simple meals to participants.
